Link to “Super Size Me”

Ms. Ruddock, one of our science teachers, wanted to see if I could “tape” or “record” any of the films from this great website that she discovered. Turns out that I don’t really know how to get that info from the site, but then again, we don’t need a hard copy of it. That is kind of the point of websites like Free Documentaries. Org — the resources are online and available all the time (except when your server crashes, of course).

While I try to get a hold of a hard copy of Morgan Spurlock’s Super Size Me, I have posted a link to a Google Video of the same film. It is amazing what you can find online nowadays. Keep passing along information to me, and I will keep finding ways of getting out on the blog.

Welcome Spring

Sorry that I haven’t posted much new stuff. It’s hard to lock down on the keys with the sun shining outside and all (at last!) HHS faculty and staff should have received a green sheet reminding you that the HHS/LMC has this online presence.

I know that there are some teachers who are asking their students to visit the blog as a link to good resources. Please remember that the first three (3) links on the left take you to academically reliable research resources with complete citation information for your students.

For now, I’d like to recommend that you check out this worldwide project scheduled for May 10th called Pangea Day. Look for more information coming soon. Thank you for stopping by and remember to welcome Spring this week. (I think it’s finally showing up).

Thank you for sharing

I am always thankful to others who share their finds and resources with me so that I can then pass them along to you. This week I owe science teacher, Ms. Willwerth, a great big thanks for her find, Teacher’s Domain. It is a reliable source, since it is hosted by WGBH educational foundation, which is associated with the public television company based in Boston. The site also has a link to resources at the National Science Digital Library.

I am also thankful to math teacher, Mr. Thakkar for reminding us all that he has created and collected a number of useful resources available to teachers and students. He maintains several sites and has a course catalog available and a blog about language.

Thank you also to Ms. Caradonna for reminding me to record the CNN Special on April 3rd about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I also recorded the two-hour special that aired this weekend on the History Channel. Copies should be available for one-time educational use. Thank you for stopping by.
